The film: based on the cover (and Amazon), you are probably waiting for the epic battle of Japanese monsters (sort of like a pre-Pokémon battle). Excuse Me! How long is the second film Gamera? About the same amount of time it takes you to read this again. Instead, this film is to take advantage of a jewel theft gone astray, the monster, which is hardly anything, destroys the insane power and honestly one of the Most suggestive (but not really) of the scenes appear ever OK in this movie is the MST3k ... still better than most of the other MST3k fodder but it is clearly not the original fun.
Riffs: Joel and the bots do a good job of riffing on this movie. Riffing on the last the entire length of the movie, but in some places was a dead silence. I chuckle a lot, but not really good (and quotable) zingers.
In the second segment, the segment: opening of the host are fun to add to that, they look like MST3k writers were of their time to play around with a few cultural events. The rest range from ok to slightly amusing.
General: because the film focuses so much for people as well as monsters, it's not the zaniness and fun of the original. Riffing is smaller and it doesn't seem like Joel and the bots was so much fun. Throw in some comic segments and you will have a good episode worth watching. (Probably 3-4 stars to the people who are into stars.)
